Hello PennFoodTrucks.com visitors!

I’m writing to tell you about some new features that we’ve launched on the website.  Please check them out and let me know of any features you’d like to see or anything else you’d like to tell us.

1. New Trucks

2. Recently Visited Trucks

3. “What’s Nearby?” Geolocation Browsing

4. New Food Blog

5. PennFoodTrucks in the Philly Inquirer

1. We’ve added tons of new trucks to the mix, mostly around the Science Center and Drexel areas.  They are: Gul’s Breakfast and Lunch Cart, Honest Tom’s Taco Shop, Memo’s Lunch Cart, Mikey’s Grill, Oriental Fast Food, Original Pizza Express, Pete’s Little Lunch Box, Ton Ton’s Japanese, and a few unnamed ones.  Check them all out here: http://pennfoodtrucks.com/sort

2. From the homepage, you can see some trucks that users have visited recently.  You can even mark your own visits with the dropdown box.  After choosing a truck, you’ll be given the option to integrate with Facebook and post the visit to your Profile.  These stories will then show up in friends’ newsfeeds!

3. In Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4.0 (with Google Gears), your browser can use local wifi information to guess where you are.  If you use our nearby page, it will sort the food trucks in our database based on their distance from you.  Try that here: http://pennfoodtrucks.com/proximity

4. We’ve also started a blog with information on food-related happenings near Penn.  The blog also incorporates all new truck ratings so you can stay up to date with all site changes from one place.  You can view the blog at http://pennfoodtrucks.tumblr.comand you can even write articles for it at http://pennfoodtrucks.tumblr.com/submit

5. We were mentioned in the Inquirer two weeks ago!  Check out the article here: Recession_reaching_the_food_carts
